WILDERNESS EYES
The Eye of the Wild.
In this lingering twilight
where souls come to dance
And where love unencumbered
weaves a mystical trance
I sit here reflecting
on the love in my heart
And remember the wild ones
that have stood me apart
Apart from the reaches
that follow the flock
To the wilderness soulspeak
where all life is my rock
For my soul has abandoned
all that takes with no give
For the love of the wild ones
that touch me to live
Those wilderness eyes
that see too deep for tears
With smiles and embraces
that are foreign to fears
May my heart know the purity
that is naturally theirs
And my soul be a Warrior
that conquers despair
To soften the cries
in those wilderness eyes…
All animals have children’s eyes.
